Collection & Sorting

Recycled furniture starts at material recovery facilities where plastics are sorted by type. HDPE (milk jugs, detergent bottles) and LDPE (plastic bags, wraps) are the most commonly used.

The Manufacturing Process

Sorted plastics are shredded, washed, melted, and extruded into lumber-like profiles. These profiles are then cut, shaped, and assembled into furniture that looks and feels like wood but lasts much longer.

Benefits

Recycled plastic furniture requires no painting, won't rot or splinter, and can withstand Indian monsoons without damage. Each bench keeps approximately 500 plastic bottles out of landfills.
